After posting a bunch of shots that are more than a year old, I thought it was about time to post something a tad bit more recent. Taken during my January 2008 to the Big Island of Hawaii, this shot was actually captured at the southernmost point of the United States. I didn't realize it but the southern most part of the US is actually in Hawaii and it was more or less right where I was standing during this shot. Just a little factoid that I don't think most people probably know since googling US southernmost point wants to point you toward Key West which is the southernmost point in the continental US.
Enough about that though. I'm always excited to go to Hawaii but having never been to the Big Island before made this trip a little more fun. There is something about exploring a completely new place that you have no idea what will show up around each turn. As expected, it was breathtaking but Hawaii never disappoints. I could go back again and again. Between diving, surfing, hiking and of course taking pictures of all of that and more, I'm pretty sure it would take me a long time to get sick of these Islands.
