If you know me personally then you know I just absolutely love the ocean. Whether it's diving, surfing, bodyboarding or even just bodysurfing, there is almost no place I'd rather be. In grade school, I'd draw waves in my notebooks, design custom surfboards in my free time and yap on and on about how I was going to become a pro surfer. Reality smacked me around a little but I still love to surf as much as I possibly can. Unfortunately, these days it's harder and harder to catch the right swell, on the right days, during the right time. With the peak of hurricane season coming up, you can be sure that I'll be making a few trips over to Cocoa, Melbourne and further south to hopefully get a few good hours of surfing in whenever I can.
Although it may be a little misleading, this is a shot of about a eight inch to maybe one foot wave right by the pier on Tybee Island. While I've seen my fair share of overhead waves at this exact spot, on this day it was only overhead for ants and mice.
