It's been a long time since I've had F/1.8 up and running and to be honest, I'm kind of ashamed at how long it's been out of commission. I love photography and having a place to showcase it has always been an important part for me. In the past, it has helped me mature as a photographer and improve the editing and sometimes the restraint to not over edit them. I'm proud to have F/1.8 back up and running and hopefully for good this time. Although it's missing all of the previous versions comments (until I figure out a way to cleanly import them into my Django project), I hope that my new and old visitors will take the time to leave comments on not only my new pictures but even the oldies. My plan of attack is to update at least five times a week and as always please leave any comments you might have (even if they are not nice ones).
Onward to the description. I took this shot while I was in Colorado back in July 2007. My company sent myself and my colleague out to photograph both of our resorts in Steamboat Springs. We got our work done a little early one day and drove about 45 minutes outside of Steamboat Springs toward Steamboat Lake. After walking around in the water up to our waist, sinking in the mud and trying not to get our cameras wet, we decided to get back in the car and drive to the other side of the lake. This picture was after about walking 30 minutes down to the water through knee high grass but crazy bugs jumping around with each step. Once we got to the waters edge the bugs thinned out and we were able to get some great shots. I have a panoramic shot from this area that I'll probably post at some point but I think this shot sums up the scene. Bright blue sky, puffy white clouds and silence. Makes me want to move out westward.
