I made a point to use my GPS tagging device (Sony GPS-CS1) while I was in Boston in order to capture as much metadata as possible about the pictures I was taking. Overall, the device performed reasonably well as it did when I was in Wyoming and Hawaii this past year. However, the device did pick up some very odd readings that have thrown off my GPS tagging just a bit. I'm still trying to match some of the pictures with their respective GPS tags because a few of the shots seem to be completely off while others are located exactly where they were taken. Even more weird is that it seems to be almost completely random. At first I thought it was a time syncing issue but now I'm not convinced that is the whole issue. Anyway, I'm working on getting it all sorted out but in the mean time I may just have to manually match the picture to the GPS location. Either way, I find it extremely cool and useful (if only for my own sake) to have a fully mapped out pin-point location of where a specific picture was taken. I have some very cool ideas regarding some future features for the site that will use this data and present it in a fascinating way so hopefully I will get some time to work on those in the next few months.

I took this shot standing on the third level of a Boston Harbor ferry looking directly down at the bow. We had walked the entire Freedom Trail and by the end of our walk at the USS Constitution, we were starving and dreading the extremely long trek back. Thankfully, this ferry pulled up to the end of the dock and we quickly asked how much for a ride back to Long Wharf "Wikipedia | Long Wharf"). For $3 each we had a nice relaxing ride back to the Wharf where we quickly at lunch at Joe's American Grill (our view from lunch) and recharged our batteries for plenty more walking in the afternoon.
